Dafna Talmor workshop:
Dafna Talmer is an artist based in London who makes art inspired by her life and travelling. Her most famous work is a series of photographs named 'Constructed Landscapes'. She came to our school and explained how she was inspired to make this work. The story begins in Israel where she was born, when she was still young she moved to Venezuela leaving a lot behind. She later moved to London while her sister went to the USA. She explained that photography, for her, started out as a way to remember all the places she had moved away from. When in London she attended Goldsmiths where she studied art. In Constructed Landscapes she uses collage to merge multiple, simple landscape photos together to create more diverse and interesting landscapes. To make these photographs she used a collection of negatives she took as memories of significant places in her life. She cut these negative and blended together some of Israel, Venezuela and the UK creating enticing, imaginary landscapes.
These are some of her pieces:
Above are the three that I made in her workshop.
